Before oral surgery
Day-Before Preparation for Oral Surgery
- If you are receiving IV Sedation, please do not have anything to eat or drink (including water) for eight (8) hours prior to the appointment.
- If you are receiving IV Sedation, a responsible adult must accompany you to the office, remain in the office during the procedure, and drive you home. The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
- If you are receiving IV Sedation, please wear a loose-fitting short-sleeve shirt. No jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc.) should be worn. Facial and oral piercings should be removed. Contact lenses must be removed prior to surgery. No electronic devices will be allowed in the surgery room (cell phones, laptops, tablets, pagers).
